DID YOU KNOW THAT SO MANY SO CALLED VISTALITE REPAIR CENTERS USE TINTED RESINS AS A WAY TO FIX CRACKS AND ABRASIONS IN VISTALITE DRUMS AND OTHER ACRYLIC DRUMS?

IN FACT, THROUGH THE BEST SOURCE (A PERSON WHO MAKES ACRYLIC DRUMS), I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT WHEN ADDING CHEMICALS LIKE DYES, ECT. WEAKEN THE RESIN BY 25% TO ALMOST 50% AND THAT IN TIME IT FALLS OFF THE SHELL BECAUSE OF IT'S AGING.

BMD'Z do not use those tinted resin for scratch repair. In fact it is left clear and used only for seam refilling. They did my amber/black/amber Pro-Beat set I bought back in 1983 for $1500.00 (a little on the high side) but I loved the look.

About a couple of months ago I sold it and bought a used Tama Artstar outfit in natural finish BUT HAD BMD'Z recover it in black oyster pearl, I will get a picture once I have time and get my digital camera back. Better looking and it gets alot of attention.
