My SPD-6 being non-expandable (meant to add a kick trigger but it doesn't seem feasible), I was looking at a SPD-S, which boasts not only more triggers (3 rim), but also trigger input, where I could add a KD-7 for instance.
I'd only be using the SPD-S as a trigger and trigger pass-through (kick add-on), not as either a sampler or actual drum sound module. Is there a more cost-effective/suitable device that covers my need? IOW, an expandable pad set like the SPD-S, but sans the sampling and/or onboard sound capabilities?
