| you could play metal with brushes if you really wanted to... if you like em, then get em. if you dont like em you wont be able to play any type of music, period. |

I know that, but are they too thin or does that not matter? _________________ Matt Cameron has to be the best drummer ever... period |

does it matter to you? you dont need thicker sticks to play heavy music. i personally dont like thick sticks because theyre harder to control and tend to bash your stuff up a lot quicker because theyre so much heavier. sure, you may be able to get a tiny bit more volume out of your drums, but its not anything too dramatic.
"its not the size of the hammer... its how well you use that hammer that matters." that phrase applies here too. some jazz drummers use friggin tree trunks for sticks, and some metal drummers use thinner sticks. you should always be in control of your dynamics... dont let the sticks take over for you. youd be a lot better off learning to draw out the most powerful highs and the most inaudible low volumes out of your drums with whatever sticks you like best. |

I've used Steve Gadd sigs for about the last 6 months for music ranging from jazz to funk to heavy metal and they work perfectly for everything! They are definitly my favorite stick. _________________ The Silvertones |
