| I own a pair of vistas and I love them.It is all about head selection w/ these drums...coated E2 or coated emperors work the best. Anyway, the bearing edges of my 9x13 tom are uneven where the seams connect. As a result, it is hard to get a head to seat correctly. Has anyone had any luck filing acrylic? I only need to file away about 1/4 inch at most. |

Go take a look at some of the websites for vintage drums like www.vistalites.com they should have information that will help you. You might also want to go to: www.drumcenterforum.com and look thru the "Vintage Drums" section of the forum. You might want to join and post your question there, too.
I couldn't help but notice that you are in Asheville, NC. I grew up not too far from there. Do you ever go to the Musicians Workshop music store that is on Merrimon Ave.? I used to go in there, they had some clear vistalites they would use to display cables and smaller items in. _________________ TANSTAAFL |
