I'm looking for opinions for the best heads to use on the Accent CS Custom. I like some ring. I was wondering about Evans G2 as I love them on my Pearl Sessions. Also has anyone used the Puresound snare strands on the snares.

Puresound snare wires are great. I love them.
As for heads, if you like lively drums, I would go for single-ply, personally. The Aquarian Studio-X heads are some of the best I've ever used. They have just enough built-in muffling to take out overtones but still leave the drum open and resonant. They are single-ply but have been plenty durable for me. |

woo almost a year later, actually almost 3 hours from it
ive broken 8 of my strands on my snare, i actally love the sound but i do have a backup puresound and used them and there good.
id say probably evans g1 or 2 are great. if you have too much ring spend an extra $10 and get the e-rings. if your going like 8-10 inch i'd go with g1's clear, any bigger id go ewith g2 coated. thats what i got on mine and love it. as for bass nothings better than emad clear or coated.
i like evans because remo were the famous drum heads of like the 80's and have evolved its factory, and aquarien has taken the old factory. EVANS uses $10,000,000 in making sure the heads are fine and even(with like the coating)
evans are the most up to date makers and use the most $$$ in making their heads |

Try the Evans EC2's or EC1's. Great heads... G2's are nice too. _________________ "You can be smart and happy or you can be stupid and miserable."

why must people take bit by bit out of my post and discuss it soo much? it seems like i get those alot lately
anyway the post was i believe january 1 2007 and i was posting 9:00 pm december 31 2007, 3 hours away from one year from the original post...kind of weird
ive.....experimented with my snare a lil and have tightened the snares alot(i love the weird sound of my snare:)) and teacher said if you want a good sound to put duct tape accross to tape the snares to the head and when i took it off it broke 3 and lossened a few so over playing theyve popped out. |

oh... um... You don't need duct tape to get an awesome sound out of your snare... It is that way with lower end snares though, like Percussion Plus, GP, etc. _________________ "You can be smart and happy or you can be stupid and miserable."
