Can someone please explain to me this beat.
It's really driving me crazy.

It's off their VS album, which is amazing by the way. But yeh. Is one of those bass notes a 32nd??? I know its common time, but one of those bass notes is driving me completly off.

Its such a cool beat, from such an awsome drummer.

You know what's funny - when I listened to the songs, I first listened to "Why Go" from their first album, then realized that was the wrong song - BUT - the beat is almost exatcly the same but slower.

Try listening to that one and you might pick it up.

Anywho - I think they are 16th's - the song is 4/4 and if you do an eighth single stroke roll over it, the "off" BD fits neatly between the eighths. Are you having trouble playing it, or transcribing it?

OK. Well, the reason I asked is because, this song - like 9 out 10 others - I can play, but I can't transcribe worth a *Holy Censor, Batman*. I've tried "testing" my transcribing skills with some difficult Tool stuff that I knew tabs already existed for. I would do the tab and then check it against other's tabs. I was wrong a LOT. But I could play it (poorly).

Anyway, if you play those eighths I metioned and set up an alternating 16th against it with your foot, you'll have those notes.

Ok, I was stupid, when I was trying to transcribe it I kept putting the second snare hit on the 3& instead of 4.

Now correct me if im wrong, but I'm pretty sure it goes like.

. .
. . . . .. ..
Please excuse my poor attempt at writing a tab.
